captive earring trouble...?
I have a 16 gauge ear piercing in my cartilage. It's completely healed and everything (I've have it for almost a year) and i've been changing it, but i've only ever used the horseshoe type of hoop. just today I bought the 'captive' type (I think that's what it's called-- this is what it looks like: http://www.spencersonline.com/girls_jewelry_body-jewelry_captives/steelblueblack-captive-multi-pack/ )
So, the earring itself goes in the piercing fine, but I can't for the life of me get the little ball in place. If I'm holding the earring in my hand I can get it (with some difficulty), but when I'm wearing the earring I can't seem to get it in place... I even had someone else try and do it and they couldn't either.
does anybody who wears this kind of earring have tips for me, for putting them in?
Practice a few times putting the ball into place without looking first, that way it is easier. Put the hoop in your cartilage and try to line the ball's indents with the hoops ends, after, squeeze the sides together to hold the ball in place. If you still can't do it, have a friend do it, and make sure they line the indents with the ends as well. That could be the problem.
