I just bought a black pearl necklace off of ebay for my wife. I bought them knowing that they were freshwater, dyed pearls which is fine. I received them in the mail today and they look more purple than they do black. The picture on ebay looked black. Is that how black pearls are supposed to look? My wife wanted black pearls for Christmas, but I don't know anything about them. Purple is not one of my wifes favorite colors, so I'm not sure if I got the right thing or not. Doing a few searches online, I have found pics of some black pearls that look purple, but also some that really look black. I know that pictures on a computer don't always reflect true actual color. Anybody have some black pearls that would like to chime in?
